Swim Access for Everyone

OUR MISSION

Swim For All supports underprivileged and minority communities by providing educational and developmental programs to save lives and promote healthy lifestyles. We do this by increasing long-term access to swimming, promoting learn-to-swim initiatives, facilitating critical water safety education, and preparing potential military recruits to confidently pass their mandatory swim tests.

OUR STORY

Swim For All was conceptualized during the cultural reckoning of 2020. Sitting down with our future President of the Board, Elijah Walker, we asked ourselves two fundamental questions:

  • What can we actively do right now to make a difference?

  • Where is the gap that we can uniquely fill using our experience and skillsets?

While looking at the existing aquatics community, the answer became clear. There are many incredible learn-to-swim programs out there—but what happens to these participants after they achieve such a life-lifting skill?

We discovered that a vast majority rarely get back into the water. Due to a profound lack of access, minimal community support, and enormous systemic barriers, they are cut off from something so intrinsically human. Swim For All was born to bridge that exact gap. We don’t just teach people how to survive in the water; we build the sustainable pathways and community support needed for them to thrive in it.

The Pillars of Our Work

  • Sustainable Access: Breaking down economic and geographic barriers so the water remains an open, welcoming space long after the initial lessons end.

  • Water Safety & Literacy: Equipping families and community leaders with the knowledge to prevent aquatic accidents and save lives.

  • Service Preparation: Providing targeted, rigorous training to help military applicants clear their swim benchmarks and unlock career opportunities.
